An Evening With Amanda Foreman

Chiswick House Friends and Chiswick House and Gardens Trust have joined together this year to present a series of talks and concerts, the first of which takes place on Wednesday 13 April at 6.30pm in Chiswick House.

Amanda Foreman is the award-winning historian and internationally best-selling author of two critically acclaimed books. She is also the recipient of the 1998 Whitbread Award for Biography.

'A World on Fire' has been described as a magnificent book giving a comprehensive view of the complexity of the British involvement in the American Civil War and the characters involved – from world statesmen to the soldiers and sailors on both sides.

The best-selling 'Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire' has also been much praised for its superb account of the life and influence of this doyenne of high society, so closely linked with Chiswick House.

This promises to be an enlightening and fascinating talk and we expect tickets to be swiftly taken up.

Tickets can be obtained on-line from Ticketweb at £20 each (link on right).

A complimentary glass of wine will be served after the talk and we look forward to seeing you on 13 April.
